Party and dramatic reading with local debut authors in Seattle, April 23
Suzanne Morrison, Laurie Frankel and Urban Waite to perform at Bartholomew Winery
April 11, 2011, Seattle, WA – On April 23, DEBUT LIT will host a party and dramatic reading with local Seattle debut authors Suzanne Morrison, Laurie Frankel and Urban Waite. The event will take place at Bartholomew Winery’s new tasting room in the Rainier Brewery Building in Georgetown at 3100 Airport Way South, from 7 to 9 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
To acknowledge the event’s coinciding with Shakespeare’s birthday, the authors will read scenes from their books accompanied by actors reading the characters’ dialogue. Local music project, The Calculus Affair, will also perform from their Hamlet album.
Frankel’s humorous novel, The Atlas of Love, was called “beautifully written” by The L.A. Times Magazine and was recently short-listed for the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association Book Award.
Referred to as a “fine specimen” by The New York Times, Waite’s suspense novel, The Terror of Living, received a starred review from Booklist and The Library Journal and was called an “auspicious debut” by none other than Stephen King.
Morrison’s memoir, Yoga Bitch, inspired by her highly-successful one-woman show of the same name, which was called “ambitious, ballsy, and hilarious” by the Seattle Weekly, will be released this coming summer.
Books by Frankel and Waite will be available for purchase, and a book signing will follow the performance. Bartholomew Winery’s latest wine releases will also be available for purchase. (Attendees are reminded that there is not a cash machine on premises.)
